This weeks selection is The Jackson 5 singing Rockin' Robin.
Wow, check out the clothes!! I so gotta get me an outfit like that. Love the 70's funk wardrobe and music.
There was a reason I picked this song. Phil had a hanging plant that got bit by old man winter and didn't survive. He was heartbroken. We just forgot to bring it in one cold night and that was it. He left the pot hanging on the porch throughout the winter as a reminder of what NOT to do. We (HE) had plans to replant something, but......check out what bloomed in this lovely pot.

Yes, a Robin has made itself home in the hanging pot.
Ah' but that's not all, look at what's inside.

Three little Robin eggs. We have sat and watched the bird. She is hilarious when she is trying to get comfortable or making her nest. It looks as if she is dancing.
I'm not sure how long the eggs have been there, but we know at least 5 days, it could be more. Phil did a bit of research and read that the eggs hatch in 12-16 days and the baby robins should be ready to leave the next in another 16 days. It should be fun to watch the babies.
Have a happy day
Kris

Oh, how wonderful to have those beautiful robin's eggs and be able to watch them hatch! There is nothing funnier than baby birds who look like erasers without their feathers. What a delight it will be to watch the process!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Kris,
That is adorable! How sweet. I would love to watch that. You'll have to take pictures as the days go on to let us see how they progress.
Kris
That is so cool. I just love to watch the birds doing bird things.
She just may come back next year too. She has a claim on the pot now.

Great song! Isn't that sweet they made their home in Phil's dead plant ~ HA! Pretty eggs, post more pics when they hatch please. Well if you can sneak past the mama that is. :)
You should buy a lottery ticket!LOL
Rockin Robin really got me moving this morning, Thanks, Heidi
They will be fun to watch. Sometimes it is hard to walk around here in the Spring, when there are babies in the nests, the parents will swope down on you if they feel threatned.

Oh how sweet is that! Those robins eggs are the most beautiful shade of blue. Looking forward to seeing their progress.
What a lovely surprise! And such a beautiful "robin's egg blue!" LOL. Matches your blog. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Kris
I had a Robin, and it's eggs last spring. It was sooo funny, because when they were ready to leave the nest they were so darn clumsy that Randy had to catch them and put them back in the nest...this happened 6 times in one day...after that we said" what the hell, I guess they are ready to get out of here". The robin is back and your bucket looks like a perfect parking spot. I must hang one out.
LOVE YOUR RETRO KITCHEN KRIS...I really do.

What a delight to find such a treasure in your own little pot!
Those eggs are such a lovely colour - so charming to see them!
I always look at it like a little precious gift to be able to share your home with a wild thing.
You are blessed!

I just love spring when the sweet little birds build their nests. I have about 5 bird feeders out and I could sit and watch the birds all day. It will be fun when those eggs hatch. Please keep us updated when they do.
