Just my style

Homegoods is having a giveaway. Win a $5000 shopping spree. Just take a simple quiz to find your style and then enter to win. They have daily and weekly winners.

Below are the results of my quiz.

Kris, you are a Bohemian Eclectic (I never considered myself bohemian or eclectic, but I would agree with most of the description).

You have wide-ranging interests and influences and so appreciate a mix of styles, cultures, periods, and objects. You would never use a matching suite of furniture or want a home that seemed cookie-cutter. You have an artist's eye that enables you to mix the old or the unusual with the new and modern. When traveling, you seek out unique objects that reflect what you love, and you use them in a sophisticated way. Your home is visually intriguing and comfortable, with a delightful mix of cozy chairs, ethnic fabrics, elegant pieces, hand-made items, even a little touch of quirk or humor, all of which gives your place a laid-back, Bohemian feel.
You value creativity. You are stylish and fun loving, and can be an inspiration to others. You have a natural sense of drama, and you know you have to be willing to take risks—whether with colors, finishes, furniture choices, or ideas—for your home to stand out. Your home can be happy and lively and the place all of your friends want to be.

Have a happy day.........

Happy Sunday

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful HOT day.

The temps this summer have been mild, but August holds true to it's reputation and has brought both heat and humidity to Tennessee. I'm not complaining. I do my complaining in the winter months.

So, what to do when the weather outside is too hot to enjoy? Stay indoors and paint.

I finished the 6'x6' floorcloth and shipped it out. I got a photo from my client yesterday showing the new floorcloth in her dining area.

You can't tell from the photo, but the colors used in the cloth are the same earthy tones as the tile on her dining table. The center is painted in cream and beige colors. The border is painted in burgundy/brown colors with a mix of green, red and cream floral and scrolled designs.

The larger floorcloths are a lot of work, but fun to paint. I'm currently working on another even larger floorcloth and hope to have it ready by mid week. That should keep me busy and out of the heat for a few more days.

Football season is here..........YAH! Well, preseason is here. I'm not big on preseason, but I just love me some football. My beloved Titans are playing the Bills. Fire up the grill it's time to tailgate. Bring on the beer and hot wings!!!

Have A Happy Day!!

My Life According to "James Taylor"

Yes..........I'm still here. :)
Things are finally beginning to settle down. Phil and I are still looking for a new place closer to work. We haven't found it yet, but I know it's out there.
I've been working on two large floorcloths. 6'x6' and a 6'x8'. Just finished one and the other is on the table and ready for the design to be painted.

Something Fun!!
I got tagged on facebook by my son, Matt. This was such fun I thought I would share with my blogging buddies.

Using only song names from ONE ARTIST, cleverly answer these questions. Pass it on to 15 people you like and include me. You can't use the artist I used. Try not to repeat a song title. It's a lot harder than you think!

Summer Nights and Monday's Music

I hope this post finds everyone doing well. I do apologize for my lack of posting, but this has been a busy summer. Let's recap our last 6 weeks.
1. I did a show in Franklin, Tn.
2. Family traveled to Mo. for a graduation celebration.
3. My son, Bryant got married June 6th. The bride and groom are doing well and they're the cutest couple.
4. Phil and I went on a weekend trip out of state.
5. Phil's Daughter, Cagney got married on June 26th. We had to travel 10 hours to Kansas for the lovely ceremony. The bride and groom smiled the entire weekend.
6. This coming weekend Phil and I plan to travel to see my son, Rusty in N.C.

Yes, we've had a full plate, but it's been full of family, fun and love! All this and we are planning on a move by summers end. I'm trying to destash, organize and donate. If I haven't worn it, used it, seen it (things are buried in my basement) or have a need for it, It's GONE!!

To celebrate summer and for Monday's Music selection (yes, I know it's late) I picked a scene from one of my all time favorite fun movies. Greas---Summer Nights!
Enjoy

I'm going to continue my blog break for a couple more weeks and then I'll post photos of both weddings. I'll be visiting all my favorite blogs and hopefully finding new ones in the meantime.

Have A Happy Day

Some Place in Thyme

Do you like romance? Do you like cottage? Do you like style? Well, let me introduce you to the Romantic Cottage Style by Char of Someplaceinthyme.

If you visit Char's
blog or her website you soon find out she is a lady with many creative juices. Her style is very soft and on the romantic side, mixed with a bit of whimsy.

Let's do some window shopping......

Paris
Tags with glitter and jewels.
These cute tags come in a set of 6. The round tags have a french theme. The crown has features a jeweled center and glitter. Too cute for $7 (price include shipping).

Cute Chick Tags
This set is my favorite from her shop. The set includes an assortment of 5 bird themed tags. Some oval and some rectangular. There are blue birds and nest with birdies! These also have glitter and once again a price tag of $7 shipping included.

Let's see what other lovelies she has to offer.....

Sweet Lavender Sachet Pillows

Inspired by a vintage postcard. Char has used this inspiration as the center attraction for her lavender scented pillows. Great to use hanging on a door knob or a drawer pull. These would be so lovely in my home. :)
The price for the pillows range from $19.99 to $24.99

She also has lovely handmade pillows for your shabby cottage decor. Check out this beauty
.
The roll style pillow has beautiful teacup and roses fabric. It also features ruffles of mary rose down each side and venice lace on the front. Isn't that lace gorgeous?

The next item up for grabs is a beautiful
vintage teacup topiary. Now, is this not just darling? I think it would look lovely on an old mantle painted white or use as a centerpiece on your table draped in vintage linens and lace.
The last item I'll show you has a bit of whimsy and retro feel.
Char makes the cutest
tea towels for your kitchen. I love the red, black and white apron and cherry theme in this tea towel.
I think this handmade cutie is a bargain at $14.99. You just can't find this kind of quality, craftsman ship and attention to detail at your local department store.

I hope you've enjoyed this preview of
SomePlaceInThyme, but don't let the tour stop here, there are plenty more offerings at her site. I'm sure you'll find something you just have to buy for your home. Also, stop by her blog and visit. She has a lovely home and amazing outdoor area that she's featured in several post.
